“Puente de mayo”- best introduction to Spanish course in Spain

For those, who want to learn good Spanish, best opportunity is to choose one of the language courses in the native country. There are plenty of schools which offer this opportunity in almost every city of Spain.

One of the most popular choices is taking Spanish Course in Madrid. It is a city, where people speak with the official Spanish, not dialect. In such a big agglomeration there is also no possibility of boredom. Only sightseeing El Museo del Prado, the greatest artistic attraction of Madrid, can take a week and still there is much more monuments to see, events and parties to attend. Although none of courses start during Puente de Mayo, which is the first long weekend of May that starts on 1st of May, which is, like in other European countries, the Labour Day and the most of offices, schools and shops are closed, but still it is worth to be in this city in those days. On 2nd of May there is a Community Day and there take place a lot of open-air events, like sport shows, concerts and generally a big party on the streets. A lot of tourists come just to see that happening.

For those, who prefer smaller and more relaxed cities, good choice is to learn Spanish in Seville. Capital of Andalusia, although much smaller than Madrid, is the fourth city of Spain. In Seville there are also no classes during Puente de Mayo, but the beginning of May is also really nice period. The weather is just perfect: not too hot, not too cold: ideal for sightseeing. The really hot days will come there later. You can spend your time visiting close cities like Cadiz or Sanlucar de Barrameda, which are really interesting places and lie just by the ocean. You can also decide to arrive couple of days earlier and attend Feria de Abril, which is the second most known event in Seville, just after Semana Santa. During these days it is really possible to indulge unique culture of Andalusia, with its clothes, dances, dishes and, of course, flamenco.

Spending three days of sightseeing, partying and taking advantage of May weather is a good beginning of intensive language studies during Spanish Course in Madrid or in Seville. It gives opportunity to get know some Spanish native speakers and some unofficial expressions, as well as get into Spanish culture.
